Blade and Bow Whiskey Review
Last year, Gretchen and I had the chance to visit Kentucky for the 150th Kentucky Derby—a truly unforgettable experience. As part of the trip, we toured the historic Stitzel-Weller Distillery, where we had a tasting that included Blade and Bow Bourbon. It quickly became one of our favorites from the lineup.
Blade and Bow has a smooth, well-balanced profile with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, and a gentle spice on the finish. It’s approachable yet refined—perfect neat or with a single cube. What really stood out to us, beyond the flavor, was the legacy behind it. The distillery's deep roots in bourbon history gave the whole tasting a sense of reverence. You can feel the craftsmanship that goes into every bottle.
We also took a tour of a nearby stud farm, which added to the charm and tradition of the whole trip. Between the Derby festivities, the distillery experience, and the farm tour, sampling Blade and Bow felt like drinking a piece of Kentucky heritage. It’s definitely earned a permanent spot on our shelf.
